Auschwitz

Auschwitz, Krakow, Poland

"When we visited Krakow one summer, we were told that Auschwitz was a one hour drive away.
We went to see it because of its historical significance. There were many people visiting
the place, but it was very quiet there. My impression when I left was quite different from
what I thought before visiting. We got to see belongings of the people who had been there
and we saw the rooms where they lived. Few people know what really happened there; it is
hard for anyone to imagine. I don't regret visiting Auschwitz because my knowledge of the
place expanded, and I know more about the terrible concentration camps." --Andreas
