Bamboo forest

Sagano, Kyoto, Japan

"This bamboo forest is one of the most beautiful bamboo forests in Japan. The sound of the
wind in this bamboo forest has been voted as one of "one hundred must-be-preserved sounds
of Japan" by the Japanese government. Back in the 1870s when Edison was looking for a good
bamboo as a material of a filament for his early light bulb, the governor of Kyoto
recommended two sources for bamboo, this being one of them. Edison used the other one."
