Mentoring in the park
San Jose, California"It was November and the city was just beginning to set up the annual 'Christmas in the
Park'. John was on the lookout for displays to phoon in. A rough-looking group of teens
'owned' and were skateboarding around a bench opposite this display.
"Of all the places... John gave me his camera and hopped into the scene. Their attention
and conversation shifted to his presence in the display. I overheard one of them express
approval: 'He's tight...'" --Beverly
