Cemetery
Yurihama, Japan
"This is the cemetery of my home town where my father, his brothers and their parents are
all buried. The view is from the tomb of my father (so the tomb itself is not in this
picture). It looks like other tomb stones in this picture. (This is typical shape of
Buddhism tomb stone that you can find in most places in Japan.)
"The whole hill (and many other hills in this area) used to be an old tomb mound
1,400-1,700 yeas ago, probably seen by the ancients as a good location since it faces a
lake, river, mountains and the Japan Sea.
"I visited there to pray for my father, with Sachie and my little niece Shino." --SG
