"When we left the depot, the sun was shining. By the time the cog railway reached the
14,100 foot summit, it was snowing heavily, the winds gusted to 45 mph, and it was 20
degrees below zero!

"The structure is a memorial to the woman who wrote 'America the Beautiful' after she
visited this spot. My guess is that she visited in the summer!" --Lou
